At PDSA we recognise that pets are part of the family, so PetLife '18 offers a full day of entertainment for pet and music lovers alike.

As well as the live music line-up and delicious food and drink, visitors can explore a series of unique areas full of family fun and activities that celebrate our pets in a whole host of different ways.

Gates will open at 11am on festival day with main stage entertainment drawing to a close at 10pm.

The Arena, The Country, The Paddock and The Green will open from midday until 6pm.

Welcome Area

Your gateway into PetLife ‘18; the Welcome Area will be your first port of call once you arrive at the festival.

Before exploring the main festival site, you can also pick up a programme in the Welcome Area and our volunteers will be on hand to direct you to the different areas of the festival site.

For those attending with their four legged pals it’s useful for you to know that there is a special PDSA Pet Hospital tent on site where you can get lots of wellbeing advice throughout the day for your four-legged friend should you need it.

The Paddock

This part of the PetLife ‘18 site will be all about meeting some of the heroic animals who spend their lives helping others. There will be the chance to have your photo taken with animal heroes, and plenty of opportunities to find out more about their incredible stories.

Police Dog Finn

Police Dog Finn, who sustained near-fatal stab wounds while protecting his handler from an armed suspect, will be presented with the prestigious PDSA Gold Medal award at PetLife ‘18– the equivalent of the George Cross.

The bravery of Finn, who has since retired from Hertfordshire Constabulary, helped save the life of his handler, who was also injured.

Finn will receive his PDSA Gold Medal on the main stage at 3pm and visitors to The Paddock will be able to meet Finn, along with his former handler. This will be the first time members of the public will be able to attend a ceremony like this, and will be a unique chance to pay tribute to a true four-legged hero.

PDSA Horse-Drawn Carriage

In the early days of PDSA some 100 years ago, we used to have special horse-drawn carriages that would make their way around communities caring for pets in need. At PetLife a replica carriage pulled by a Shire horse, recently restored, will be touring the festival site during the day and will be making regular trips to The Paddock for photo opportunities.

Picnic Area

The Paddock will also have a dedicated picnic area where families (and their canine companions) can relax and take advantage of the variety of tasty food that will be available to purchase on site.

Memorial Garden

If you have a beloved pet who is sadly no longer with us, you can get a tag engraved in The Paddock’s Memorial Garden as a fitting tribute.

Arena

Throughout the day at PetLife ‘18 The Arena will be the place to enjoy lots of great family entertainment.

The various demonstrations and activities will not only entertain and educate, but also give you the chance to take part too!

Paws for Thought – dog agility

The snappy tricks routine, set to music, of these mainly rescue dogs, has to be seen to be believed! They have performed their stunning tricks and routines at shows up and down the UK including at Countryfile Live and Britain’s Got Talent.

Proving that dog training can be fun – a lot of fun – these dogs will be showing off their skills as they take part in eye-catching agility tricks.

Younger PetLife ‘18 visitors can even get involved with some of the activities.

Dog and Duck Show

There is no show quite like this learn-while-you-laugh experience, which has entertained crowds all over the country.

These trained dogs and ducks, that spend their days living together on a farm, will help the audience learn lots about dog behaviour.

Each show is broken into three sections looking at dog psychology, natural instincts and finally audience participation. Make sure you catch this show for a quacking good time!

Meet the Heroes

Meet some of the animal heroes that have received a PDSA Animal Award and listen to their handlers tell their incredible stories of bravery and devotion, in some very special Q&A sessions.

As well as meeting some PDSA Animal Award recipients, the Royal Pigeon Racing Association will be on hand to talk about some of the stories of the 32 winged heroes that were awarded the PDSA Dickin Medal during WWII. There will also be a special pigeon demonstration so everyone can see these winged creatures in action.

The Green

Ever wondered why your dog walks in circles before laying down, or why your cat scratches the furniture? If you’ve got any questions about your pet’s wellbeing and welfare, then The Green, sponsored by Lily’s Kitchen, will be the place to get them answered.

Split into two zones – VetCare and Wellbeing – this will be a fun, interactive area which will equip you with everything you need to know to make your pet healthy and happy.

VetCare

With five separate vet consulting areas (dedicated to joints, ears, skin, grooming and digestion), VetCare will give your dog the once-over from nose to tail.

Once you’ve found out what you need from our on-site experts, there will be the chance to treat your pooch to specialist VetCare and Pet Care products. For budding vets and animal nurses, this is also the place to find out about career opportunities.

Wellbeing

Although your pet’s health is a serious issue, the Wellbeing dome will be full of fun activities that the whole family can get involved with.

From the Pet Operation game experience to the Fight the Flea game and radiography quiz, there are plenty of chances to learn about what makes pets tick while having loads of fun.

There will also be dedicated pet question and answer sessions and one-to-one consultations for canine visitors. Plus you can even book your four-legged family member into a Dog School session.

Because saving pets is what PDSA does - every, single, day – this is also the zone where you can find out all about some of our real life pet patients and sponsor them on the road to recovery.

Main Stage

At the heart of PetLife ‘18 will be a great music line-up, the Main Stage will host some of the best live acts in the UK.

Kaiser Chiefs, Jessie J and The Vamps will be rocking the PetLife crowd. All of the acts love their pets, so are the perfect choice for PetLife ‘18!

The Country

Set aside so ticket holders and their pets can get away from it all, The Country will be a relaxation and exercise zone at PetLife ‘18.

Dogs love going for walks and what better surroundings could there be in which to enjoy two specially marked walking routes - a 2km route and for the more adventurous, a 5km option.

Allowing you to take in the stunning views across the venue and the surrounding hills, you’ll also learn fun facts about dog exercise along each route.

And while The Country is the place to get away from the crowds, you’ll still get a great view of the bands on the Main Stage from here, so you won’t miss out on any of the music.

The Village

This is the place to relax with the family, enjoy great food and drink and shop for some treats for yourself and your beloved pet.
